I then repeated the same mistake with The Darkest of Nights, which was republished as Survival Margin. I haven't actually read the novel of The Mind of Mr Soames, which I'd thought might be too similar to Flowers for Algernon for my taste. I have dipped into other Maine novels from time to time, and they weren't to my liking, so I think the two apocalypse novels are my lot.J McEvoyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04041757652557198819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6045486872620706747.post-3362747074401533922015-03-04T13:36:43.179-08:002015-03-04T13:36:43.179-08:00I read The Mind of Mr Soames decades ago; I think ...I read The Mind of Mr Soames decades ago; I think I knew of it because Maine got a mention in a history of Hammer Films. I remember it as being interesting and a good deal better written than I expected, but it seems I didn't run across him again.

I see that The Tide Went Out had too many syllables for later publishers, who retitled it Thirst! - which as a sample of corporate good taste rivals the British retitling of All Heads Turn When the Hunt Goes By as Bad Blood.Philiphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18076353733931722397noreply@blogger.com
